Delete your PermitMobile account
You can delete your PermitMobile account at any time. This page explains how to cancel your subscription, request account deletion, and what happens to your building permit tracking data.
PermitMobile is a contractor permit management service. Deleting your account removes access to your dashboard and triggers removal of personal data associated with your profile and permits, subject to the exceptions described below.
Before you delete your account
We recommend completing these steps before requesting deletion:
- Cancel your PermitMobile Premium subscription so you are not charged after your account is closed. Active subscribers can manage billing through the Stripe customer portal linked from your dashboard paywall flow, or contact us for help.
- Export or save any permit numbers, addresses, or status notes you need for active remodeling projects.
- Sign out of PermitMobile on shared devices after deletion is confirmed.
What we delete
When your account deletion request is processed, we delete or anonymize:
- Your user profile in PermitMobile, including email and notification settings.
- Permit records you added, including permit numbers, municipalities, project addresses, ZIP codes, and status history.
- Your Firebase authentication account.
- Links between your user ID and Stripe customer records in our application database.
What we may retain
Some information may be kept after account deletion where required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Billing and payment records held by Stripe, retained according to Stripe's policies and tax or accounting requirements.
- Support correspondence related to your deletion request.
- Aggregated or anonymized usage data that cannot identify you.
- Information we are legally required to retain, such as fraud-prevention or compliance records.

How to request account deletion
You can close your PermitMobile account from your signed-in dashboard:
- Cancel your subscription from Dashboard → Billing (or the Stripe customer portal).
- Delete each permit from your dashboard, or archive permits you no longer need.
- Sign out on any shared devices.
- For a full account removal request, follow the self-service steps on this page after cancelling billing.
We may reply through your account to verify your identity before processing a removal request. This helps protect contractor accounts from unauthorized deletion.
Processing time
We aim to complete account deletion within 30 days of verifying your request. You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is finished.
Until deletion is complete, you may continue to sign in unless we have already disabled your account as part of the request.
Alternatives to deleting your account
If you only need a break from the service, you can cancel your subscription and keep your account inactive without deleting permit history. You can request full deletion at any later time.
To update your email, notification preferences, or permit details without closing your account, sign in to your dashboard.
