What is PermitMobile?

PermitMobile is a building permit tracker for residential remodelers and contractors. It monitors municipal permit status so you can see approvals, reviews, and updates without calling the city building department.

PermitMobile is designed for residential remodeling contractors, general contractors, and builders who manage multiple building permits and need mobile-friendly permit status monitoring from the job site.

What is included in the free account?

PermitMobile offers a free account with no billing information required. Free accounts can track one building permit at a time, with a limit of one permit per month. You get access to the mobile-first dashboard and municipal status checks for that permit. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited tracking.

How much does PermitMobile cost?

PermitMobile offers a free account and PermitMobile Premium at $40 per month. Free accounts track one permit at a time (one permit per month) with no credit card required. Premium includes unlimited permit tracking, automated municipal status checks, and email notifications.

Does PermitMobile update permit status automatically?

Yes. After you add a permit number, municipality, and project address, PermitMobile checks the municipal permit portal and updates your dashboard when the building permit status changes.

Which municipalities does PermitMobile support?

PermitMobile supports municipalities where we have active scraper configuration for public permit portals. Coverage is expanding. If your city is not yet supported, note your request from your signed-in dashboard profile.

Is building permit status data always accurate?

Permit status is sourced from municipal portals and may be delayed or incomplete. PermitMobile is an informational tool — always verify approvals with your local building department before starting work. See our Disclaimer for full limitations.

How do I add a building permit?

Sign in to your dashboard, open the Add Permit modal, and enter the permit number, municipality, project address, and ZIP code. New permits start with a pending status until the first municipal check completes.

Can I use PermitMobile on my phone?

Yes. PermitMobile is mobile-first. Open permitmobile.com in any modern mobile browser to check permit status from the truck, job site, or office — no app store download required.

Will I get notified when permit status changes?

PermitMobile Premium includes email notifications from noreply@permitmobile.com when permit status changes, plus reminders if a status has not changed for 5+ days. Free accounts do not receive email notifications. Manage preferences from Dashboard → Profile.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime to stop future billing from Dashboard → Billing or through the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation does not refund the current billing period unless required by law.

Can I get a refund?

We generally do not refund partial billing periods after a charge is processed. Billing errors and exceptional cases may be reviewed on request. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Is payment information secure?

Yes. Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout. PermitMobile never stores your full credit card number. See our PCI Compliance page for details.
