Refund policy overview
This Refund Policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for PermitMobile Premium, our building permit tracking subscription for residential contractors and remodelers.
PermitMobile Premium is billed at $40 per month through Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to this policy together with our Terms of Service.
Subscription billing
PermitMobile uses recurring monthly billing. When you subscribe:
- Your payment method is charged $40 USD at the start of each billing period.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Payment processing is handled by Stripe; PermitMobile does not store full card numbers.
- Receipts and charge details appear on your statement according to your card issuer and Stripe.
Refund eligibility
Generally, PermitMobile does not offer refunds or credits for partial billing periods once a subscription charge has been processed. This includes situations where you did not use the dashboard during the billing period.
We may issue a refund or account credit at our sole discretion in exceptional circumstances, such as:
- Duplicate charges or confirmed billing errors attributable to PermitMobile or Stripe.
- Extended service outages that materially prevented access to permit tracking features.
- Charges made after a verified cancellation request that we failed to process in time.
Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Approval is not guaranteed.
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws. Residents of certain jurisdictions may have mandatory cooling-off periods, withdrawal rights, or other remedies that cannot be waived by contract.
If you believe a law in your location entitles you to a refund, review your options from Dashboard → Billing and your Stripe customer portal. We will review eligible requests in good faith where required by law.
How to cancel your subscription
You may cancel PermitMobile Premium at any time to stop future charges. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout or required by law.
- Sign in to PermitMobile and cancel from Dashboard → Billing or the Stripe customer portal linked from your account.
After cancellation, you retain access through the end of the period you already paid for, then dashboard premium features are disabled unless you resubscribe.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancelling your subscription stops future monthly charges but does not automatically refund the current billing period. You are responsible for cancelling before your renewal date if you do not wish to be charged for the next month.
Chargebacks and disputes
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer, your PermitMobile account may be suspended while the dispute is investigated.
Review your billing history from Dashboard → Billing before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve questions quickly.
How to request a refund
To request a refund review, sign in and open Dashboard → Billing. Use your Stripe customer portal to view charges and dispute eligibility where available. Include:
- The email address associated with your PermitMobile account.
- The charge date and amount shown on your statement.
- A brief explanation of why you are requesting a refund.
- Any relevant screenshots or Stripe receipt identifiers, if available.
We aim to respond to refund inquiries within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method through Stripe and may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your bank.
Refunds and account deletion
Deleting your PermitMobile account does not automatically cancel an active subscription or trigger a refund. Cancel billing first, or ask us to cancel and confirm in your deletion request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated last-revised date. The policy in effect at the time of your charge generally applies to that charge.
